Over £4m to be Bet on the Scoop6?

Yesterday we brought you news of Totesport running a market on How much will be bet on the Scoop6. Well, If money talks, then over £4million will be bet on the scoop6 this Saturday! Just before 3.30pm today Totesport were forced to suspend the market.

Spokesman Damian Walker said: “It has been a crazy day. We opened the market at 9.30am and the 50-1 about £4 million or more being bet on the scoop6 this Saturday was soon snapped up followed by all the prices down to 8-1 in just over half an hour.”

“But even after that, punters were taking any price we put up. Our odds compilers said they had seen nothing like it. Just before 3.30pm the decision was taken to suspend the market. It would be fair to say we have a very one-sided book, but £4million+ turnover would more than make up for that.”

If £4 million is bet on the scoop6 this Saturday that would take the win prize to at least £3.4 million with another £1.5 million available as a bonus the following week. Had you asked us yesterday we would have thought to have £4 million bet would be very unlikely but it looks like it might happened as awareness of this massive rollover spreads particually to people hearing about the Scoop6 for the first time.

Scoop6 Interest Surges Online

It has now been eleven weeks since the Scoop6 was won. Not only has the win fund ballooned in that time, to a predicted £3 million this Saturday, but also interest online has been surging ahead as people take advantage of the Internet to research selections, find the latest news and to place their bets.

The Scoop6.co.uk website has had a huge increase in traffic over the last few weeks and the team behind it have been working hard to ensure that it keeps up with the pace this Saturday, as well as adding some new features.

Traffic to Scoop6.co.uk (Blue) v Amount Bet on the Scoop6 (Red) - Percentages relative to 15 Nov figures

As the value of the win fund rose past £2 million last weekend traffic to the site was up to 215% of what it was the week before and over 485% of what it was at the start of the month. A similar increase is expected this week as there is a lot of buzz about the huge Scoop6 rollover and awareness of Scoop6.co.uk is spreading almost as quickly.

About Scoop6.co.uk

Scoop6.co.uk is a site run by fans of the Scoop6 to give other Scoop6 punters easy access to data about the pool. Set up over 3 years ago, the site is the easiest way to get the latest information about how the Scoop6 is unfolding.

The site is updated every few minutes each Saturday with the very latest information available on how the Scoop6 is progressing. This starts in the morning, at around 8:30am, when final confirmation of the Scoop6 races is made and those are made available on the site. During the rest of the morning the payouts available from each pool can be watched increasing as more stakes are added into the pool.

In the afternoon the racing starts. As each race result is declared by the tote the results are shown on Scoop6.co.uk and details of how many tickets are still in with a chance of winning are released. It also displays which runners those tickets are resting on in the next race. If a punter is doing well they can use this to see how the prize fund may be split if their luck continues. If they are not doing so well they can join the other Scoop6 punters who are hoping the horse carrying the least tickets wins, since that increases the chances of another rollover.

Finally, after all the the results are in, the number of winning tickets is shown along with the payout each will receive – or how much will rollover to the following week if there has been no winner.

New Features

While focusing on improving the behind the scenes systems that drive Scoop6.co.uk so as they handle this increased traffic, the team have also been adding some improvements to the site to keep it the best Scoop6 resource on the net.

  • A news section has been added to the site so as information that comes in during the week can be shared.
  • A Scoop6 Twitter account has been set up which will be automatically updated with the latest information as it becomes available.
  • The live Scoop6 results pages will now refresh much more frequently and, when showing how many tickets are on each horse in the next leg, will now show the horse’s name along with it’s number.
  • Super7 results have now been added too the site. The Super7 is a somewhat similar to the Scoop6 but runs on the days when the Scoop6 doesn’t.
  • and there is more in the works.

Scoop6.co.uk would like to wish everyone the best of luck with this weeks Scoop6. The buzz will keep growing over the next few days and we are ready for it! (fingers crossed;) )

Will the Scoop6 be won?

The Tote have opened markets on this weekend’s record-breaking Scoop6 and reckon the bet is 1-4 to be won this Saturday and 11-4 to rollover to Hennessy Gold Cup weekend on Saturday 29th November.

And the firm have also priced up a market on how much money will be taken in Stakes on the Scoop6 this Saturday. They have 13-8 joint favourites of are Over £2million to £2.5million and Over £2.5million to £3million.

Spokesman Damian Walker said: “We took £1M two weekends ago and £2M last Saturday, so we reckon this weekend’s turnover is most likely to fall between £2M-£3M. I’m sure we won’t mind paying out at 50-1 on over £4million being bet this Saturday.”

“The scoop6 doesn’t look as though it will be as difficult as it has been the previous two weekends and it is a 1-4 chance to be won.”

“With that in mind and almost £3M of dead money in the pool, punters need to get busy this weekend as the huge rollovers might not be around if they wait a week.”

Our thoughts agree with the Tote’s assessment, which is good since they know much more than us! Though the races for this week’s Scoop6 haven’t been released yet, it looks like there aren’t the number of difficult races for the Tote to pick from this time. Overall we think that’s a good thing. The massive rollover is a great target to go for but we think it is time it was won. Also a less daunting line up should mean more new Scoop6 punters are ready to give it a go for the first time.

Make sure you are ready for this Saturday by opening an account with Totesport. They currently are offering a £25 free bet and 5% cash back on totepool bets including the Scoop6.

Scoop6 Loser Found

Ok, finding a loser after last weeks Scoop6 was not won isn’t really that hard a task, there is one sat behind this keyboard, but one punter had a particually close call.

Going into the final race there were 19 tickets still live, split over 9 runners. Coming to the last this punter held the only ticket still in with a chance, a chance of scooping the full £2,098,527 for himself and befcome the largest Scoop6 winner ever. His hopes lay with 66/1 shot Maneki Neko who had a good run and was battling with Sunnyhillboy for the lead. Unfortunately his dreams weren’t to come true as Sunnyhillboy pulled away to win by four lengths.

Betfair have announced that the unlucky punter placed their Scoop6 bet with them and, though the punter wishes to stay anonymous, they have released some details. The punter was making only his second Scoop6 bet but was giving it a good go by selecting 2,304 lines. He had three selections in the last race (Maneki Neko (2nd), Hernando Royal (4th) and Busker Royal (fell). This means his likely combination was 4x4x4x4x3x3, though the other 3 could be in any of the first five race.

Hopefully there is some good news from this for the unlucky punter. He is likely to have had quite a few winning place lines paying out at £407.40 each to soften the blow. Though I’m sure it would take a while to forget the £2 million+ that he was so close to.

There is good news for everyone else. The Scoop6 rolls over for another week and it looks like we will be playing for a win fund of over £3 million this Saturday. Add in the bonus fund and there could be a possible prize of over £4 million!!

Beat the rush and open an account with Totesport bookmakers, the home of the Scoop6. They currently have a £25 free bet promotion and will also give you 5% cashback on your Scoop6 bets this month. The unlucky punter didn’t take advantage of that offer so lost himself £230 before racing started, that’s not unlucky, it’s foolish!
